Christmas in Utah

After a couple of days in IF we headed down to Saratoga Springs for Christmas. We got there just in time for the big family Christmas-Eve-Eve Party! Collin's mom is seriously amazing when it comes to delicious food and way too much of it! She outdid herself again! We all had lots of fun eating, playing games, acting out the nativity, and opening presents! And of course, if you're a certain group of boys, wrestling!

There was a special visitor! I decided I was too old to sit on "Santa's" lap this year.

But Tyler wasn't!

Collin was.

I went running on Christmas Eve--and admired the beautiful view. Saratoga Springs is really in a great location scenery-wise, looking right out on Utah Lake. We always feel like we've escaped to somewhere far away when we go out there.

Christmas came... and it was great because this year, not being at my parents' house, we didn't have to get up at 6:00 am! It was just Collin, me, Tyler, and Collin's parents there to open presents but we had fun. Collin got me a watch I have really been wanting and ... a trip to San Francisco with Tara to go see Wicked! (that actually still tbd due to Tara needing a new job... but I am keeping my fingers crossed!) And I gave Collin THE t-shirt quilt.
Morgan and Lana came back over with their kids for Christmas dinner (once again waay too much food!!) and stayed until late. After getting everything cleaned up Collin and I were very busy playing with the kids! McKinzie and Savannah are always dead set on us playing endless rounds of Nerts with them, so that is what happened once again! We also played Curses, Pass the Pigs, and "Spy dog" (that was with Aiden--could you guess??)
by the way, that picture up above-Aiden's tasty treat he concocted himself, out of chocolate cream pie and.... cheese puffs???

Me and Savannah!
We love these guys! Wish we could come down to visit more often. It was a great Christmas and we're so thankful for our families, and the true reason for Christmas.

Here is THE quilt! My first ever sewing project that wasn't boxers in home ec. class. I started working on this in July! I know. seriously. It took a lot of work just to track down the shirts and steal some from Collin--and that was just the beginning! But after tons of help from pretty much everyone I know, I finally got it done on Dec. 22!! There is a shirt for each school, h.s. and college, Collin has wrestled for, and each school he has coached for, and a couple other random things like his first summer camp he coached and the first couple of Idaho National teams he coached. So, hopefully this will be a good way of preserving these shirts, and now he can't steal MY love quilt all the time!
.... and we're getting our new bed this weekend, which I am SUPER excited about! That is our real Christmas present. can't wait.

I just laughed so hard when I saw Collin looking at the quilt. It's kinda on the side of the bed and I was wondering if he could even get in it, since it was tied to the BED! Looks great!
