PUMPKIN MANIA!

We had a pumpkin carving party at our apartment Friday. We did it last year too, but it was a little bigger this year. I made invitations and we invited a lot more people. My friend Tammy gave me the idea that we should vote so we did! I made up little prize bags for the winners. It was really fun and we're so glad that so many of our friends came to play with us! Smiling like my cute little pumpkin. Josh is in the background and Kristy is conveniently hiding behind his arm. . .

I have to admit it was a little scary with Josh stabbing that pumpkin right in front of me. But I think I scared him just as muh once I started carving. Josh and Kristy's pumpkin won SCARIEST and BEST PUMPKIN! They were so nice to give away one of their prizes to some of us who didn't win 2 categories.

Here we are with our awesome creations. I was very impressed that Collin actually made a pirate pumpkin. I had underestimated his artistic abilities! :) Mine was really simple and that's how I like it!

Idaho Falls

We finally went to visit Idaho Falls last weekend. It was really fun to just relax and hang out with my family since we haven't seen them since the 4th of July. It was great because right when we got to town we turned on the radio to hear that IF had just WON the EMOTION BOWL! (If you don't know what that is--it's the biggest rivalry EVER between IFHS and Skyline HS--the big football game.) We drove by the stadium on our way to my parent's house and I was very happy to see the goalposts painted their true color once again--ORANGE!

While we were there we went to the temple, which was cool because we haven't been there since we got married over 2 years ago.

My grandma came over to visit for a while--she is so cute! She has been doing so well since my grandpa passed away last spring. It's always fun to visit with her.

Collin's "Boot socks" -- I can't get him to stop wearing these to church! He thinks it is so funny to sit in Sunday school and pull up his pants so everyone can see those dorky socks. My parents gave them to him for Christmas and he has definitely gotten good use out of them. Of course my family thought it was hilarious that he was wearing them.

Well, I changed our template and can't get the font from my last post to change so sorry its' unreadable. It was pretty boring anyways so don't feel too bad. I DID figure out how to put in our picture from our priesthood-craft-Applebees adventure last Saturday though. Peace out!

Good Times in Boise

Well things are moving right along here in Boise. It's still SO weird that I'm not in school right now. I feel like I just keep waiting for it to start, and it never does! Even though I'm not in school, I'm a lot busier than I had thought I would be! I attended the IMTA (Idaho Music Teacher's Association) State Conference last week and it was pretty awesome. I'm excited to get established as a piano teacher here and it was really enlightening to meet and talk with so many other teachers from around here, as well as hear from our amazing clinician, Dr. Martha F. Hilley of Texas University, and also the president of the National Music Teachers Association. Okay, I'll stop boring you with these piano details.
I stole a picture from Chaly of our fun night last Saturday--during priesthood we girls (Me, Chaly, and Laci--wrestling wives) went out to JoAnns and had a giant craft-brain-storming session and came up with something that will hopefully work. Plus we decided to start doing crafts together--hopefully we can figure stuff out together! It's better than me trying (and usually failing) to put things together on my own! So anyways, after that we all went to Chili's and had a good old time, and FREE chips and salsa! :) It's great to have friends here, otherwise our lives would be really sad.
