First week at home

When we pulled into Jerome after an exhausting day of traveling and doctor visits, we were welcomed with this on our front door:
So sweet! I still don't know who did this. There were diapers in that bag hung on the doorknob. (the hearts were still there from, ahem, the 1st week of Feburary when the YW heart-attacked us....)

These pictures are just kind of random but definitely ones I want saved!
Elan's first bath at home

This guy was such a chill baby even from day one. He literally never cried unless he was hungry, needed a diaper change, or was cold from his diaper change. Exposed bum/legs were NOT something he wanted to handle! You would think we were torturing him. It was actually so cute. I forgot how much little things like that completely derail a brand new baby! I was loving it. :) So bathtime....also not his favorite while we were still waiting for his cord to fall off.

Collin had him reading from the first day home!

Lucy did not have the same adjustment issues she had when we brought Ashlyn home, ha ha! She doesn't even really seem to notice/care that Elan's around. Just another bundle of blankets to snuggle on?

Oh this tiny little bug! He is so snuggly and definitely loves to be swaddled really tight and held. Ashlyn was not ever into swaddling so it's fun to have someone who loves it so much.

Ash has been a wonderful big sister the whole time. She was so willing to "help" with taking care of Elan from the first time she saw him. Everywhere we'd go she tells everyone she sees "I have a baby brother. His name is Elan." It is adorable. Here she is reading him a story while he's asleep in his crib. :)

My favorite!!!

Me with my crew

I had a hard time doing anything but cuddling Elan the first week home. Like, it was really hard to even do stuff for Ashlyn. I think I had a hard time wanting to feel like I could bond with him as much as possible, since it's SO different when there's another kid who needs attention too! Collin took that whole week off of work and it was so nice to just be able to take care of things between the two of us. I did get lots and lots of snuggle time with Elan, and that was great.

Those little legs would NOT straighten out for a good 3-4 weeks. That's a newborn size onesie, look how baggy! He was a tiny guy.

Ashlyn loved this daddy snuggle time and Elan has already gotten initiated into it too. Love this.

So, so tiny in his crib! This house we're in right now has NO space for even a bassinet or Moses basket in our room for Elan, so he's had to sleep in his own room. That was hard at first! But he's been a good sleeper even in his crib and we're thankful for that! And actually I like knowing he's in there because it's protection from Ashlyn and Lucy, ha ha.

More book reading time. A rare moment his eyes were open!

Just posing in my underwear with my new baby brother

I will say it a thousand times.... those eyes!

Very anxious to feed him whenever she can! They adore each other already and I absolutely love it.
