Be still my heart! This guy is to die for. Even in the dead of night when I go in there (every night, multiple times a night) I can't help but smile the minute I see him squirming around in his crib. For reals, even his cry is cute. I think anyways. I am so in love! We all are!
Best buddies--he is so lucky to have this sweet big sister. He is aware of when he's alone now and doesn't like it much! Luckily Ashlyn loves to sit and entertain him, and he loves it too. I can't wait until they're old enough to play together.
That's right, we've started getting some smiles!
The BEST!
Those big dark eyes. I seriously can't get enough of them.
I don't know if I created this monster or what, but Elan LOVES this thing. I wear it every single day. It's super comfy and I really like it too--although sometimes I need a little space, like, to take a nap! ( ha ha, as if!) He pops his head up and looks around (and mostly right up at my face--oh those big dark eyes..... ) for about 10 minutes and then falls asleep. I sometimes end up keeping him in there for up to 2 hours while I'm getting stuff done and he is a happy camper the whole time. When he gets too big for it I might be in trouble. Thanks again to the amazing Lara who gave this to me!! (it's a Solly Baby Wrap if you're wondering)
Looks so comfy! ha ha. Disclaimer--Collin took this picture! I was not present!
Not gonna lie, I am not a morning person and also not a person who does well with a small amount of sleep. And Elan is not someone who will go more than 3 hours at night between eating. There have been a lot of mornings he comes right to bed with me to try to keep him happy while I sleep a little longer, and in hopes of keeping Ashlyn asleep longer too. This pic is AWESOME because he looks like he's totally into the selfie--making the same expression as me, ha ha!
Elan's first visit to Daddy's school! He was interested in something on the bookshelf....
Easter Clothes!
This was to DIE for! Such a handsome guy.
At 2 months Elan has gotten BIG! All that eating around the clock is paying off!
He has almost outgrown 0-3 month clothes, which he just started fitting into about 2 weeks ago! He weighed 13.1 oz and was 22.8 inches tall, head was 15.75. 95% on all three!! Not too bad, at his 10 day appointment he was in the 5% for everything.
Elan is generally such an easy-going guy! He LOVES to be swaddled and cuddled. He really really likes the swing (opposite of his sister, who hated it). I have been putting him in it for an afternoon nap because I can get a little nap in myself. He does not like the bouncer. Cries within 5 minutes of sitting in it every single time. Why?? It's exactly like his carseat in my opinion. Weird. He has slowed down with night time eating a little bit--he's started going a 5-6 hour stretch but it's early in the night--usually like 7:00-12:00, and then he'll be up every 3 hours after that. He's wide awake at 7:00am every morning, never fail. Not even always hungry--just ready for some company! So he has been laying on my bed listening to Mike & Kate (I miss Mix 106 (Boise) so much, good thing I can still stream it!) while I shower every morning. He loves to stare at the ceiling fan over our bed so that's nice. He is kind of a bum about being in his carseat in the car, not sure what that's about! Ugh! For about a week there he would start to cry every time I put him in the car. Drove me crazy, mostly because when I leave our house I'm usually going straight to the freeway to head to Twin Falls. Not exactly a road I can pull over on to stick his paci in!
He doesn't get very upset very often, but when he does it's about 0-60 in 10 seconds. He gets to screaming so hard it's hard to calm him down. This has only happened like 4-5 times ever, but I feel so bad and I'm not sure what has set him off most of the time.
I don't know if I already posted about this, but around his 6-week mark he started showing weird symptoms that we thought might be a milk allergy. Great. It was while we were in Utah over spring break, double great. Anyway, after switching him to sensitive formula thankfully that went away. And he really started chunking up after that!
Things Elan likes at 2 months:
-Being swaddled
-Looking at ceiling fans (whether spinning or not)
-Looking at the pattern on the couch cushions
-Tummy time--for about 5 minutes
-Staring deep into my eyes (like, nonstop whenever I'm holding him)
-Being worn in the wrap
-Watching his sister
-Baths--while actually in the water only.
Things Elan doesn't like at 2 months:
-Riding in the car for very long (please start liking this soon, buddy!)
-Getting put into the tub or taken out of the tub during bath time
-Being even a little cold
-Being even a little hot (gets SO sweaty so easy)
-being alone in a quiet room
-keeping any sort of schedule--one day it's nothing but 45-minute naps and the next it's 3-hour naps, same with eating.
Love, love LOVE having this sweet spirit in our home. He is a daily reminder of Heavenly Father's mindfulness of us. He and his sister really do give me that extra spark to get me going on days that have otherwise been really tough. I still can't believe how lucky we are to have him here, and I am enjoying every minute.
