So how we did our fitness challenge is that there are 24 points possible each week. Each day you can earn a maximum of 4 points. You get one point each for: Getting at least 7 hours of sleep, drinking at least 64 oz. of water, exercising (like, a real workout that you make time for), and keeping a food log (we left how specific in your food journal you want to be to each person's discretion since not all of us are specifically trying to count calories or anything). We each just keep track of our own points for the week. Since you can only get 24 that gives you one "cheat" day for each thing out of the week.
There's a winner for each week's total amount of points--that award is a $5 gift card for somewhere. And then at the end of 10 weeks there will be a grand-prize winner for the total most points. That prize will be $100. Last week there was a tie for the top 2 with the most points, and so my mom (who isn't participating but is the one keeping track of everyone's points, the money, and sending out the prizes) just drew names or flipped a coin or something to decide the winner for that week.
Each of the 6 of us put in $30, which covered the $100 grand prize and all the $5 gift cards for each week.
Then there is also one more thing--we have 2-week-long "extra" challenges going on as well. For these we also earn a total of 6 points per week--one point per day if you did it. The challenges we have are: No eating 3 hours before bed, No sweets or treats, Eating at least 30 grams of fiber a day, and limiting "vegging" time with media to 1 hour a day. The winner of each of those challenges will get a $10 gift card.
