A Big Year for Wrestling!

Collin took his job as head coach at Centennial straight out of college, with two intentions: to be a great Spanish teacher, and to build a great wrestling program.

In spite of how his school district may treat him (and the rest of their employees), he is doing a phenomenal job as a teacher. But that is for a different post. This one is for wrestling!

This was Collin's 8th year as head coach-whew!

Centennial's record this year  was 19-2!

They placed in the top 3 in four (out of five) tournaments!

They won the District III title for the 4th year in a ROW! (5th total in Collin's career)

They KICKED trash at State and not only WON, but set a new record for total points scored in the 5A division.

Collin was awarded Coach of the Year, for the second time!

I was in IF during the tournament and didn't have the chance to come down to watch until the finals. I really wished I could have been there more, but luckily I got there in time for the real excitement!

The fabulous coaching team! With knee surgery and a working wife these guys really had Collin's back all season and it was such a huge group effort. They are a great group of guys!

Alex came down with us to watch....and enjoyed his first hamburger in 2 years!

Interview for the Statesman... she asked him like 20 questions then put in 1 sentence of a quote in the article,  oh well. :)
I'm proud of this guy! He is the most dedicated person I know. Definitely, it can be trying on our family and by the end of the season I was really missing having time together. But it is definitely comforting to know that all the endless work he puts in really is paying off. They only have 5 seniors graduating, so they should be continuing on pretty strong for the next few years also.

But for now, I am really, really enjoying actually seeing Collin more than an hour before bedtime! Ashlyn is too! And we are so proud of him and his accomplishments!
