Ashlyn's 2 - Part 2

Ok, I know it appears that I am ridiculously spoiling this kid but really there is a good explanation for why we had 2 birthday parties....

Back when I started thinking about plans for her birthday a lot of things were still up in the air in regards to Alex's mission report, district wrestling, etc. etc. all on the weekend of her birthday. It was appearing that if Ashlyn and I went to IF for Alex's report, Collin would not be able to come, so he would miss her birthday. So due to that, I wanted to make sure that we had a little party with him there. That is why this birthday party idea was born!

Another reason is that we have so many dear friends here we really wanted to celebrate with all of them!

Of course after I had already sent out invites it turned out that Collin decided he would just power through a drive over to IF after districts got over to spend the day with us and then drive back home that night--a 24 hour trip basically. But I was already planning the party so it went on!

THEN Ashlyn totally got sick--gross nose and coughing sick--the day before the party! Of course I had already made all the stuff except for the edibles, which I had already bought all the supplies! So I just rescheduled for 2 weeks later. Which really made the birthday thing drag on but it was a fun party and I actually had a lot of fun putting it together.

And really, Ashlyn is our only kid and at this point, who knows how many more #2 birthdays we will have around here? I don't want to be an overly doting parent, but I think it was all worth it and fun.

I'm not a huge party planner but I had a lot of fun putting stuff together for this one! Maybe because I went with the whole "Big Red Barn" (her favorite book) theme and I knew she'd like it.

So I am just not going to take the time to edit these pics to make them all "pinteresty"....sorry. But I did take pics of some of the fun party stuff.
