| A visit by the dog who has no sense of personal space :) |
I seriously, seriously almost took a picture of him getting wheeled out of the hospital in a wheel chair.... I was picturing framing it and hanging it in the wrestling room..... but I love him a little too much so I didn't end up doing it.
Anyway, just in case you didn't know, he tore his miniscus (a. gain.) back in early November, right after the wrestling season started. He really wanted to make sure that workers compensation covered it because well, he really did get injured on the job and, we really didn't want to pay a few thousand dollars for another knee surgery. We first thought he would be able to have the surgery over Christmas break. But we far underestimated the time it would take for W.C. to go through! His surgery didn't get approved until the end of January!
So he had it the first week of February. He took 3 days off school and practice (well he couldn't resist so he actually went back to practice after 2 days) and that was that. He has had at least 1 other knee surgery since we've been married but this was the first one since we've had a kid. It was sad for me not to be able to just go be there during the whole process. But since he had to be there at 5:30 am and didn't get done until 8:30 I didn't really want to try to pawn Ashlyn off on anyone for that long, that early! So I just had to wait for the hospital to call me and then I quickly dropped her off at my saint-of-a-friend's house to watch her for about an hour while I went to pick him up.
Ok, this post is already sounding boring to me so I'm gonna wrap it up. Collin was suuuper funny during his waking up time. He was talking all slow and repeating EVERY instruction that the nurse was giving..... to me. She finally had to say "you know, I really just need to tell this to your wife, don't worry about understanding everything." ha ha. He really didn't have a bad recovery, I think he was expecting it to be more painful than it was. That said, he did take every single pain pill and used up an entire bottle of ibuprofin before the recovery was mostly over. He still now goes to therapy every so often and does a lot of rehab on his own, and tries to keep it elevated when he can. But thankfully it went well and the dr. did say that when he did the procedure what he found was a situation that definitely needed to be taken care of, so it's a good thing he had it done.

I really wish you had gotten a video of Collin waking up from the anesthesia. Oh well. Do it the next time he has surgery on his knee. :)
