On the Water

Yee-haw! We went boating with the Petersons and Bowmans last night. It was like 95 degrees when we got there at 5:00 so it was per-fect. Collin was so happy to get back on the board--this was his first time this summer!
And he was lookin' good if I do say so myself!

Sorry for my lack of centering the picture.

And yes, guess who finally, FINALLY got talked, er, forced into trying to wakeboard! Yes folks, first timer here. I've been boating hundreds of times but always manage to sneak away without having to try--given my baaad past experiences water SKIING, back in my mutual days. But Tammy, Collin, and Brother Bowman wouldn't let up, so I finally gave in! :)
This is how happy about it I was!!

...and this is about all they saw. wreck after wreck!! I have to have tried like 15 times. BUT... I did get up!! TWICE!! wahoo! First time was like 5 seconds... second time was more like 15! WOW! I am so proud. After that I was about toast, and the water started getting cold so I chickened out! But now I have more guts to try again sometime! Pres. Peterson was the best coach.

Collin had some fun with this thing James brought, whatever it's called. It looks like something I never want to try. It takes like, incredible strength and balance just to get up on it. But he loved it, as he does all things that present a challenge.

woot!

... and this one is for Tammy. I knew she'd be so disappointed if I didn't put up a picture of her!
Thanks for the fun trip guys! We had a blast!

I know I say it all the time but I am so jealous of your fun life. Can you help me be fun? Because I pretty much don't go anywhere or do anything. Hmmm. What is the matter with me?
P.S. Dutch oven cooking is easy and you really can't ruin it. Just make sure you leave plenty of time to cook it because it takes a while. My fave is to layer sliced potatoes with bacon, broccoli, sliced onion and cheese. You can add a can of cream of chicken soup too or a can of soda or just leave it plain. Delicious!
