Stuff I Made

I know I have slacked in posting lately. Buuut... I realized that my best motivation for blogging is having something else I need to be doing, that I don't want to do. For example, right now I am supposed to be reviewing last month's "Spending Report" (my less-horrible name for budget) and finishing up this month's. Therefore, I am blogging. But I digress.

So, I know I have brought this up before, but now that I am home SO much more than I used to be, thanks to naptime and the general fact that a crawling baby doesn't like to sit in a shopping cart or stroller for a super-extended period of time . . . I have been way more crafty than like, the previous 3 years combined. I really like doing stuff like this, so it's been fun to be able to do a little more lately. And I took pictures so someday I can prove I did do something useful with my time . . . every once in a while . . .

Stocking Holder--due to lack of fireplace. I still have some improvements to make to this next year, but I ran out of time and wanted to hang it up. Don't you love our stockings though? Not homemade.

Sheet Music wreath--I made this a few months ago for my mom for Christmas but couldn't post it until she opened it! I want to make one for myself really bad.

I made these for both of Ashlyn's Grandmas. Totally random thing I just came up with.

This was my dad's Christmas present--the footprint frames are for future grandbabies.

And, remember the Ugly Walmart Laminate Bookcase I painted a few months ago? Well I did it again, with our Ugly Walmart Laminate Entertainment Center. This is the before picture. I barely remembered to take it before we took it out to the garage, as you can see.

And this is a horrible after shot, I know. I really just forgot to take one and I don't want to go take it now. But anyway, maybe you can see that it does look a lot nicer. And that's Ellie there playing in the little cupboard. :)

Every year I wish we had a Christmas card holder but I have never bothered to make one. Well this year one night I was like, "that's it, I'm coming up with something." And this is what I did. Amazingly it worked REALLY well. It was totally my own idea, though vaguely inspired by a few ideas on Pinterest. It's just leftover ribbon I had duct-taped to the back of a mirror, and then I secured the Christmas cards to the ribbons with red and green paper clips. (The long-term goal is to have some cute clothespins instead) Totally awesome, and totally free! And it took me like 20 minutes.

Filled with Christmas cards! And before you judge me for hanging up my own, we actually sent out ALL of ours and had no spares, but one got sent back because I guess we didn't know Collin's brother had moved. duh. So I just stuck it up there because I didn't have any more envelopes!
And . . . holla if you see yourself up there, thanks for the card! :)
