Other Stuff in July

In between all the trips and moving we had a great July together! Love getting to have Collin around more in the summer! (although he was busy doing a class he had sort of put off until the last minute--the deadline was July 31 and he passed his last test on July 29! that guy.)

This was the day both the lowest 2 buttons on Elan's shirt came off during church. It was a nice look.

We hit up the high school track a few times, I would walk/run with the jogger and Ashlyn rode her little bike.

Ashlyn did swimming lessons! We signed up for them with a piano teacher buddy of mine in Twin. Her neighbor was the teacher, they have a nice pool in their backyard. I would say Ashlyn improved a little in this year's lessons, about as much as she did last year. Her teacher, Miss Ellie, was SO nice Ashlyn kind of took advantage of that! She didn't try too much new stuff. Still didn't like getting her head wet, that's for sure. But she'd do it occasionally. On the second to last day, she jumped in off the side and the teacher let her go all the way under! I was so proud of her because she sputtered a little when she came up, but in the past she would have full-out BAWLED if that happened. Progress! Unfortunately, the next day, she remembered that the teacher had done that, and she wouldn't jump in off the side at all. Smart kid!

Two little peas in a pod. They amuse each other so much already! I hope it continues! Elan's eyes never leave Ashlyn when she's around, that's for sure.

We pulled out a bunch of baby toys when we moved and it's been like Christmas for Ashlyn. Just goes to prove it's not how cool the toy is that makes it fun to play with, it's just how new it is! 

We did celebrate my birthday, even though I was in Denver away from my little fam for it this year. We had cake and I blew out my candles the night before I left for Denver, then the week after moving we had a date night, our first away from Elan! I remember my 28th birthday date night was our first night away from Ashlyn, too. Aw. Anyway, we just went and got dessert at Chili's (woot), and went and saw Pixels! Such a guy nintendo movie but I do like Adam Sandler and he was in true form in this one. Good to relax and laugh a little!

Stake Pioneer Day celebration! Ashlyn has eaten SO many hotdogs this summer! BBQs, camping, moving, traveling.... it seems like there are always hotdogs available for her? So, that's nice. We will need to do a little detox once things settle down in the fall or something!

Getting quite the double chin! It's very, very kissable if you're wondering. Impossible to resist, actually.
