Race for Recovery!

Well I finished my first ever 5K. I have been running all summer and I'm really quite proud of the progress I've made! The first 3-4 weeks SUCKED, but it has greatly improved! I now even look forward to going for a run! (don't be fooled--I'm still hating it about halfway through!!) Tyler and Collin ran the 10K.
Collin getting his free massage afterwards--first time he's ever stretched! (almost truly!!)

Waiting for the awards . . .

Collin got 2nd in his age group! So typical of our relationship. I train all summer to get ready and get like, 9th, and he runs like 3 times last week and gets 2nd! I guess that's what happens when you're incredibly athletic in the first place. (And NOT incredibly athletic in my case!)

My goals were:
1. Don't stop to walk at all.
2. Don't come in last.
(I know you laugh at these but it's true!!)
And I'm proud to say that I reached both! And I definitely did my best time ever! I ran it in 33. That is exceptionally good if you know how slow I've been going all summer! Passing people is motivating! We're signing up for a couple more this fall . . .

You did it! Congrats on finishing 3 miles! Now your next step is to do a half marathon with me! We'll find one that's all downhill though.

Yes Congratulations! I laughed about Collin getting 2nd place without as much preparation - typical Robertson behavior. Jim and I took some classes together and I would study and study and he'd just walk in and take the test and always did better than me. I can laugh about it now. But congrats on accomplishing your goals - those were great goals by the way!
