Yesterday

Yes, yesterday was not one of my better days. Who's day can go well when you start out getting a really painful shot at 8:30 in the morning? Yes, I had to get re-immunized (for the 3rd time) for MMR-Measles Mumps and Rubella. Fun huh! That kind of pain is something everyone should only have to go through when they're young enough to not remember it for the rest of their life! Yes I know I'm being a baby, but it's true. I can gauge how painful it is by whether I end up saying "ow ow ow ow ow" the whole time or not. And I said it.

Anyway, I also had to play the organ at a funeral yesterday. Yes, I am NOT an organ player. So I was really nervous about that., but I am not the type to turn down something the bishop asks me to do. Not only that, but the funeral was at 2:00 and Collin and I had a dr. appointment at 3:00. And you know how some funerals have speakers that go on and on and on..... well of course this was one of them. So I ended up racing to the dr. only to not get there until 3:30. Luckily they switched us with someone but it was still really stressful! Then I still had to copy programs and pick up balloons... for my studio recital which was that night! Keep in mind I was super-nervous about it anyway because I was gutsy and did an all-duet recital. Not only that but I split the recital into 2 separate recitals, because fitting 20 different families into that room is just not easy to do. So besides the duet-nervous thing, I also had 2 moms calling me all day to update me on when their soccer/lacross games were and when they would be able to make it to the recital. Gosh dang it people! One of the duet sets never even made it to the recital because of lacross, 2 others got there half an hour late due to soccer. So it was really up to the last minute that I was wondering whether they would get there.

But... like usual my recitals are lots of work leading up to it, then so so rewarding for me. My students did fabulous. Some of them I really wasn't expecting a lot from, but they totally stepped it up and did GREAT! This was quite a few of their last recitals too, so it was a great way to end their piano study.

They get certificates... this is one of the recitals posing. I love these kids!

Breanna and I were the final number... if you haven't seen us do our C.S. Theme and Variations duet you'll have to catch it sometime. It's quite amusing, as the audience is laughing pretty hard by the end and we get standing ovations ;) But anyway, this is a great shot of me playing with my nose. :)
