Well it was time for another memorable trip home this past Labor Day weekend . . . I'll try to keep it brief since I just loaded like 50 pictures on here . . . let that be your warning! what can I say, I love my family, crazy as they are.
Tara, Andrea and Jodee . . . not sure what they're doing!
We all loaded up and went to watch Alex in the Mud Race Fun Run or whatever it's called. Lexkins (hee) is doing cross-country this year. Their season opener is this wacko race where they have to run through this huge mud pit and climb under hurdles 3 different times during the race. The first time they went through they looked pretty happy and were all excited . . . but by the 2nd and 3rd times they looked horrible! It was funny.
We were there for like 3 hours!!! And it was like 100 degrees!! My mom had told me to only bring pants because it was supposed to be cold. And that is the LAST time I will ever listen to her advice on that!! We amused ourselves by taking some pictures while we waited . . .

Alex was by no means the winner . . . (in fact, we waited so long at the finish line we wondered if he had like, dropped out or something!) but he did finish in the middle of the pack I think and he seemed to enjoy it. We all enjoyed hanging out there . . . and even more we enjoyed getting out of the sweltering heat when he was finally done!
It was fun because my cousin Alyssa just had a baby so there we went to her baby shower and also the baby blessing. (Sorry, hope you don't mind I stole the pic, Lyss!) Lyssa is my closest cousin in age and we grew up together! It is really crazy and neat to see her with a little baby that's her's! Kardynn is adorable though and it will be fun seeing her grow up. Congrats Lyss and Chris!
Hee hee . . . we threw Mom and Dad a "surprise-late-happy-anniversary" party.
It wouldn't be a complete trip home without having to sit through some sort of Family Home Evening . . . and sure enough we had it on Sunday night! the best part was the game--Musical Chairs! Who knew you could laugh so hard you cry in that stupid game? But I sure did! The picures don't show how hilarious it was but oh man it was funny. I had tears streaming down my face.

I finally got to meet Sam's fiancee, Megan. She is a really sweet cute girl. And she doesn't seem freaked out by the family, which is always a good thing! She and Sam are getting married in December. wahoo!

Thanks for making our trip fun, Mom and Dad! We miss you guys and love you tons!
A few other random pictures . . .

Your family is great! The mud race looks wild and fun!!
Great post sis. Glad you caught the excitment of musical chairs. It really was A LOT funnier than I thought it would be. But of course, that shouldn't be any real surprise, we ARE a pretty funny group.
I'm proud to say I was the winner of one of the rounds of musical chairs and the runner-up in the other round. Of course it would take a non-Whittier to care that much to keep track. Congrats to Sam the other winner-you got lucky. I enjoyed getting dizzy walking around one chair quickly at the end.
Love,
Collin
Your family looks and sounds like they are a hoot!!! Love the post!
