Art in the Park

First of all, I forgot to put this great picture in earlier of my corn-pickin' husband and father . . . you can figure out what they were doing for yourself, but keep in mind it was like 45 degrees that day as well, and Collin was real proud of his "farmer shirt." One of our favorite Boise things the past few years has been Art in the Park! It is a huge art festival in Julia Davis park that goes on for a 3-day weekend in early September. There are hundreds of art vendors--but if you're picturing a "stuffy art crowd" don't even think about it! It's SO cool--tent after tent of funky art, decor, jewelry, and really anything you can think of. We've never bought anything there, but it's really fun to spend an afternoon just looking at all the cool stuff. We like to pretend we know things about art and critique the different styles--hey, it is supposed to be subjective, right? You can also get in free to BAM that day--and there's always something interesting in there. They had a couple of cool displays and one gross one--"American Cockroach" which gave me the shivers!Along with Art in the Park you can also plan for a 15-minute wait to get into the restroom.
You may think this is a happy picture--but I was really mad at Collin for asking a random stranger to take our picture! He always does it, and I always hate it! I just feel stupid. I'm probably the only person out there who has a problem with it but it has caused a lot of unnecessary angst in some otherwise happy pictures, that's for sure.
But anyway, here we are at our last summer hurrah--Art in the Park. And it was fun in spite of the random picture takers!!

I'm laughing so hard at all your recent posts. LOVE the glow in the dark messages! Hilarious! And the farmer shirt totally rocks Collin. Don't ever let any hillbillies tell you any different. Just kidding!
