A lot of people have been asking about this story so I figured I would put it up, even though I still have older stuff I need to get around to updating on here!
First you need a little background story. (insert dreamy, flashback music here) Almost 7 years ago, when Collin and I were brand new newlyweds, one of the things he insisted on buying with some of our giftcard/wedding money was a set of home hair clippers--he was so excited that I could "cut his hair" and he'd never go pay for it again! I was a little leery about it but figured I could probably figure it out. Well, the first time we did it, to make the story short, I didn't know what I was doing and Collin ended up bossing me around and I was so nervous and it turned out so bad that I ended up locked in the bathroom crying. It's not that he was really mean, but he knows what they do at the salon and hello, I have never even paid attention to a guy getting their hair cut. I don't know what either of us expected, really. But anyway, I insisted I would never do it again, it was that traumatic! Collin wised up to that quick, and really has never even asked me to do it again! (truthfully it's because of what a bad job I did that one time, but he is too nice to say it.)
Fast forward 6.5 years to last weekend. . . . Collin buzzed his own hair, but he missed some spots along the middle of the back, so it looked like he had a nice skunk tail-faux-hawk going down the back of his head. Super hot. He knew it was there and mentioned he would need my help to fix it. A few hours later he pulled out the clippers and asked me to come help him. I was joking of course about what happened last time we did this, but this wasn't really the same thing anyway. Collin handed me the clippers and said, (and I quote!) "Can you straighten up the back?" Ok, who wouldn't think he was talking about getting rid of the little skunk tail-faux-hawk? I said, as I began to run the clippers up the back of his head, "Just up the middle?" As soon as he felt what I was doing and I SAW what I was doing, I shrieked, he yelled NO! And I stopped right there. But the damage had been done!
Pretty, isn't it? You can see exactly where the realization hit and I pulled them away due to the nice little clipper-lines! And, look close because you can see the cute little skunk tail that I thought I was supposed to get rid of.
It actually gets better, although I don't have a picture of the next part which is really too bad. I was too shocked/horrified/laughing my head off to think about photographing the rest of the journey. So, after we both calmed down from what had just happened, Collin thought that it wasn't too late to save the haircut. He had me buzz (no guard on, keep in mind, this was shaving to the skin) up that far all the way across his back hairline. Oh my gosh words cannot describe how awful that looked. It was like some weird bowl cut-slash- mullet, all 1/2 an inch long. At this point I was really dying of laughter and I guess Collin realized I probably should not be in control of the clippers anymore. Plus I wouldn't stop apologizing (in between laughter) and I think he was getting sick of that. So, the choice left was to buzz his head. And believe you me he did that himself.
Ta da:
This is his "my wife cut my hair and look what happened" look. Although really he cares less about it than I do. All in all I think the lesson everyone can learn here is that 1) I should never be allowed to wield clippers again and 2) Bad haircuts are so much funnier than good ones.

Love it! I've been looking forward to this post and you didn't let me down. Very funny. And the end result looks just fine :-)
Thanks for a good laugh!
That is so super rediculously hilarious! I showed Brady and he had a good laugh too!
Oh. My. Goodness.
I really laughed out loud when I read this. No wonder I'm terrified to do anything to Sam's hair.
