2 Months Already?

Ashlyn's 2-month birthday was Sunday! As of today she is officially 9 weeks old. WHAT?! It's crazy! I know it's cliche, but it's true so far what everyone says--just when I think it can't get any better the next stage is coming along and it IS even better!

Our friend Kim did some pictures for us a couple weeks ago--Thank you Kim! Check out her photography website:

Ashlyn had her 2-month doctor visit Tuesday. It went great--besides the shots! She weighed in at 13 lbs 13 oz! 95%!! And she is now 23 inches tall--90%!! She might be a star basketball player! Her birthmom was 5' 9" and the shortest girl in her family. So we might have a tall one on our hands! :) She was very happy and smiling for the doctor the whole time, he just thinks she's great!
When it came time for shots.... so sad! I stayed away because I didn't want to watch. She was happy one second, then screaming the next! I knew that would happen--but it was still sad! It was the first time that when I picked her up, she kept crying! She is so easily comforted usually that was the saddest thing for me! But she settled down after like a minute and was smiling at me a few minutes later so she showed how tough she is again, I guess. :) Later, though..... she got crabby! She basically cried all through my teaching that evening, which was horrible for me to have to listen to! (Collin was home taking care of her) Then we had a little baby shower with some of the wrestling moms, and she was grouchy! But it went fine and was fun anyway. The funniest thing was that seriously, the minute we got home, she was wide awake and happy again. I guess she was just making sure we know she doesn't want to be involved with wrestling in the future!

I guess it hadn't occurred to me back when she was a newborn that sometime she would start making sounds besides crying! But she cooes and talks all the time now! It is so stinking cute! There's one particular little lion on her activity gym that she just talks up a storm to. And the mobile over her crib really gets her going too! It is super cute. I can't believe she will someday be talking! It seems crazy! But I'm excited! She is super smily and pretty much if you're paying her attention she will give you big smiles and tell you a big story! She can sit in her bumbo for like 5 minutes before she gets sick of it, she is strong with holding up her head! It is great. We love this little bug!!!

One other note--we got word from Michigan last week that our "official" 6 month waiting period began on April 6th. So hopefully in the beginning of October everything with the adoption will get finalized in Michigan (We don't have to go back over there), and we can set up a sealing/blessing date a few weeks after that.

Megan was in upper percents when she was a baby, and she turned out to be 5'3"...

The pictures are adorable and don't worry about finding balance. The first baby is the hardest and then it gets easier. But there are tons of things that just have to slide and I still feel guilty most of the time because I spend too much time cleaning instead of playing and I don't get to work out enough and my personal scripture habits are ppppbttt!!! The list goes on and on but is everyone fed and clean and got hugs and a vitamin? Yes. And did we have family scriptures and prayers? Yes. And are the bills paid so we have somewhere to live and heat and water? Yes. And did mom get some sleep? Uhhh. We wont' go there but really it all works out and Heavenly Father blesses us for doing our best. Love you and think you are a wonderful mom. I knew you would be!
