Bedtime

Collin and I have a bedtime. Yes, that's right. It's newly established, in the last 2 days and I can't say I'm a big fan!

Here is the story: We both have a serious problem with being night owls. Around 9 or 10 pm we both get some sort of second wind and feel like we could stay up forever! Which, we do more often than not. And it's a BAD habit when Collin has to get up for school at 6 the next morning! It has not been working out so well for us in the past. So I decided to put my foot down! and we now have a bedtime.

Here is the rule: We both have to be on our bed, all ready for bed (that's a big one for me!) and ready to read scriptures or whatever else by 10:00. The catch: If one of us isn't there on time (we tend to feed off each other's excuses of why we can stay up later), they owe the other one. If Collin owes me: I don't have to get up in the morning and he makes his own lunch--and I get a back rub! If I owe Collin: he gets a breakfast burrito in the morning and bragging rights.

So there you have it. We also decided that if we're both late, then the loser is whoever gets on the bed last. Which is what happened already last night. But I beat him! Anyway, as you can see this is all quite ridiculous but I felt something had to be done! We'll see how long it lasts. I'm guessing under 2 weeks, but don't tell Collin. Also, one huge problem that has come of this: (all 3 nights we've done it!) I CAN'T SLEEP! It's too early! I have slept like absolute crap the last 3 nights! And I never have trouble sleeping. And it's most likely because I haven't been to bed before midnight in like, a year.

The moral of the story? Just go to bed whenever you want.
