Wednesday

2007

I wanted to do a year-in-review. . . (no worries that I'm just a couple weeks late on this) . . .
Here's to the most memorable things that happened in 2007.
And by memorable, I mean things that I can remember right here on the spot--at 10:00 on Wednesday night. I'm not cheating by looking at a calendar or journal or anything.

January:
-uh, school started again. I honestly don't remember anything else.
-Oh wait, the Fiesta Bowl! That was memorable! And that was the same day I cried at the top of the hill at Bogus when Collin tried to teach me to snowboard. (dude, that was no bunny hill!!)

February:
-I did my pre-recital jury and . . . "passed with flying colors!" (according to Del)
-Collin's wrestling team won State (and I almost cried from the strain of cheering against dear old IF High)
-Collin was 5A Coach of the Year
-I babysat Dakin's & Chelsea's kids for Valentine's Day. (along with Clare & the Gilmore Girls! yea!)

March:
-For spring break Collin went to Iowa to compete in a wrestling tournament.
-I went to Idaho Falls for my Grandpa's funeral. I played Clair de Lune, the song I learned just for him. One of the toughest weeks ever.
-I practiced the piano 3 hours a day. (wahoo!)

April:
-Senior Recital!!!
-Weird obsession with the "Twilight" series. . .
-no more practicing the piano (didn't I used to do that for fun???)
(everything else is a happy blur of relief)

May:
-Collin was called to the bishopric--(biggest surprise to everyone ever, especially us)
-Graduation!! (ahem, I now officially have a bachelor of music in piano performance . . . :)
-Collin still had a month left in school. What was I supposed to do?

June:
-Collin got out of school! And immediately started on his goal of "working 100 hours over the summer" (definitely NOT my idea.)
-Trip to Yakima/The Gorge Amphitheater to see John Mayer

July:
-Idaho Falls for the 4th of July
-Girls Camp! (my first time as a leader!)
-Collin went to Fargo for Nationals-- (as a coach :)
-I went to California to Camp Oasis--CCFA camp for kids
(can you see how we were in town for like 5 days total all month)
-Most important: Harry Potter 7 came out and I read it in 3 days

August:
-The great Denver adventure (yes, a road trip down there)
-School started for Collin but not for me. . . yippee! (and actually a really weird adjustment.)
-"Official" piano lessons started. (35 students!! holy cow!)

September:
-Student count down to 28. (extenuating circumstances, I promise.)
-um . . .

October:
-I dressed up like a cat and a witch (each day) for 5 days. What a wild life I lead.
-We had 0 trick or treaters.

November:
-Thanksgiving was spent, sadly, here in Boise. Although we did have fun with the Jahnsens.
-I worked the day after Thanksgiving for the first time in my life and it was also the boringest day of my life.

December:
-Too busy with stupid things when I should have been enjoying the season.
-Christmas! :) (THAT was fun.)
-house deal seems to be working out! (January--house deal fails :(

And now you have officially read the lamest year-in-review ever published. Congratulations! I hope that at this very minute you are patting yourself on the back for having a better year than us. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I think my year in review is slightly more boring. Especially since the trip to I.F. for the 4th actually WAS our one and only vacation. So pathetic. Oh yeah, I guess we did have Kate in Feb. and that is a good highlight but that is pretty much it. Oh well.

Love the recap! It is fun to keep in touch and know what is going on in your friends lives!!! Sometime you'll have to fill me in on the snow boarding lessons... sounds similar to Ben teaching me (I have just stuck to skiing!) :)
