June 1

My phone is being dumb and won't let me load the rest of the pictures I want to. But I don't know when I'm going to take the time to blog again so I'll just deal with these for now! June has been great so far!

Weather hasn't been super hot, but we've been able to do a little swimming!

This face! ha ha ha ha ! Oh Ashlyn. She lost her THIRD tooth mid-June. A big top front one! It was dangling crooked for like a whole day. I had to keep myself from laughing whenever she talked or smiled because she looked like such a snaggle-tooth. Collin "pulled" it out that night, meaning like barely tugged and she didn't even feel it come out. Exciting times!

My big helper wiping the counters for me

This is how I made it through my grocery shopping trip... sticky mess was worth the non-crying child.

LOVE that these two love books!!!!

Can you tell by his face that he just realized this was a bad idea? ha ha! Oh little Mr. Climber....

A picture with who Collin calls my "hens". These girls have been so wonderful to me the whole time we've lived here. For reals, it's no secret things were kind of insane our first year in Jerome. They got me out of the house and helped me out and befriended me and I'm so thankful. You gotta have mom friends!!
This was at an amazing birthday party Liz threw for 2 of her boys (who are now my piano students, :))

We took a trip to Utah during Collin's week "vacation" between jobs. We stayed with Nana and it was a nice fun and also relaxing trip.
Visiting Collin's uncle John Marlin in Springville... boy he looks like Papa. The kids had a great time playing there and it was fun to visit.

Elan was a good trooper with all the outings we had! I had to wake him up from naps like every day so he'd go to sleep at night. I hate seeing this scene and having to wake him up!

You know when you have a great hair day.... selfie time.

We met up with Collin's mission president, President Hall, and his wife for lunch. Elan was DONE being sociable by then so he and I spent most of lunch outside with him crying on the sidewalk, heh. But I think Collin and Ashlyn had a nice time! I did get to chat a little, Elan calmed down once Collin's fries arrived. :) They are such great people.

We had a little photo shoot after lunch!

Ashlyn declared that she loved Sister Hall and even gave her a kiss on the lips when we left!!

We also stopped by the Provo City Center temple, finally. It is SO beautiful. Stupidly it was a Monday so we couldn't even get in to walk around the grounds, but we admired it from outside!

(out of order picture) Collin set up the tent and slept in it with Ashlyn while I was in Idaho Falls overnight! What a great dad.

Enjoying the park a few houses down from Nana's house

We did some other fun stuff that I have no pictures of.... probably the highlight for the kids was swimming at the Legacy Center in Lehi. They both absolutely loved it. We stayed until way late (for us) but it was so worth it. Collin and I also snuck out for a late mini-date after the kids were in bed one night, Darlyne was nice enough to stay up and be on kid duty. Of course that was a night that they both took FOREVER to fall asleep, so we left so late we decided to just go get some dessert at Chili's... but it was still nice to get out a little! We did some shopping at IKEA too... I have some upgrades planned for my piano studio this summer and phase one was replacing some chairs and adding some tables. I love Ikea but Elan did not, so it was a brief trip!
We stopped and had lunch at Tara and Paul's house on our way home, also no pictures of that. boo. It was fun though. I love that they live down in that area now!

Our final stop on our way home was the Hill Airforce Base museum. Literally right as we pulled into the parking lot it occurred to us.... oh crap, we have our dog with us, and it's like 90 degrees and we can't just leave her in the car. Sigh. Plus, Elan had just fallen asleep. So much for the fun family excursion into the museum. Collin and Ashlyn went in while I hung out in the car with the sleeping baby and dog. Then when Elan woke up we all (including Lucy) checked out the outdoor part of the museum. Elan was a little groggy and clingy/grouchy, and Ashlyn just complained about the heat like non-stop, so I wouldn't say it was on my top favorite moments of the trip, ha ha! But it was still cool to look at and a good reason to be out of the car for a bit.

Putting together my new piano teaching "throne" :)

Our last big hurrah of Collin's vacation week was a trip to Dierkes Lake on Friday. Ashlyn has been begging to go to the beach for like 2 months (maybe we accidentally told her we'd be going to a beach back when we were planning a trip to the Oregon Coast for this week... which fell through...? oops.), so we figured this would hopefully appease her. It did! She played in the sand the whole time. It was perfect weather. Elan wanted to be in the water for the most part, but he got cold a few times and I had to go warm him up in a towel. He has been cutting his huge teeth and has been a super grouch the past few days, and he was definitely not feeling too great while we were there. But he was distracted enough to have some fun. It was a fun little family trip.

And Collin's final big hurrah was a trip over to Boise with Morgan to participate in the BSU Wrestling Golf Scramble fundraiser. What a fun team! Collin, Morgan, Avery, and Chance. Two of the wrestlers from his first state championship team.
