I cut like 3 inches off my hair! And it still has a pretty bad red dye job. Sad! I am fixing it soon!
She chose ice cream for a reward for something... I forget what. :)
Elan's favorite pastime
My little artist
We took a one-night trip to Boise to visit friends and attend a BSU wrestling match. It was so fun, especially because Ashlyn thought it was AMAZING staying in a hotel! She was giddy with excitement and thought every little thing about it was so cool. That made it really fun! We loved seeing our friends and Collin went early to the wrestling match to be interviewed for a podcast they were doing for it, too. I didn't get to see much of the match because Elan wasn't cool with sitting still, but Collin had a good time sitting with some old wrestling buddies, and Ashlyn had a good time tagging along with their kids.
Love our Boise buddies!
These guys were old enough that we had a "kids table" at Chick fil A! Oh my!
We hit up the hotel swimming pool the next morning. We had it to ourselves! It was perfect! The kiddos loved it. Elan absolutely was hog wild about splashing and kicking around. Polar opposite of his sister, ha ha! Even that day she took about thirty minutes to be brave enough to walk all the way to the bottom step in the pool! Oh, Ashlyn. We'll keep working on it! She had fun too though.
"in" the pool ;)
Big accomplishment!!
Busy guy.
We had some friends over for a day while their mom went on a quick trip. Enjoying snacks and the Minion Movie.
Enjoying some free ice cream from Culver's
Oh my sweet little buddy boy!
Again we had house/renter drama this month. Our renter, who had seemed like a gold-star renter when she first moved in, got behind and then more behind on her rent over the past 3 months. She always had a different excuse and we were being nice and working with her, but of course we were getting worried about getting that rent money. We had just started discussing whether to evict her and try to get new renters or just put it on the market early, when I got a text from an old friend asking if we were looking for renters. She knew a great couple who were in need of a place to rent ASAP, moving to Boise for a job. It was seriously too good to be true but it ended up working out. We evicted our renter (felt bad about giving her only 7 days notice, but after 3 months of paying late/never paying the late fees, what can you do?), did some painting and repairing (she had kept it pretty nice, but we tried to get a few more things on our market-ready list done), and got new renters in just 4 days later. Miraculously these renters were fine with signing just a 2-month lease and then doing month to month when we put it on the market. What a blessing!! They are a mature couple and LDS and our old ward there already loves them. We were so super blessed in that situation it was crazy. We are working our way through the list our realtor gave us of things to fix up on the house before we hopefully list it in April. Let me tell you I can not WAIT to get it sold and I'm praying it sells quick. It has been such a bane to our existence! In so many ways I won't even get into it right now. I have a lot of love for it being our first home, but good grief it has caused us grief!! Oh well. That's life.
Just reading in a giant box
This is pretty much our life, the three of us. I love it. We usually have a weekly excursion to Target and it has turned into a pretty fun tradition with getting an icee and a pretzel there when we stop to feed Elan lunch. I'm so lucky, look at these cuties!
Date night! One of our goals for the year 2016 is to get out alone once a month for FUN! I got to pick this month and I chose Thai food and Star Wars.
This picture is meaningful because this is Ashlyn's train set that I have not convinced her to share with Elan yet! But guess what, when she's at preschool, the forbidden toys are allowed! He is in heaven.
HAHAHA There is this kid-sized Darth Vader in Target and I always go walk by it just to jokingly freak Ashlyn out. She isn't really scared but likes to act like it.
Ashlyn and Collin took a quick trip to Boise for another BSU wrestling match. Ashlyn had so much fun and it was nice for them to get out together. She got to spend some time with Buster Bronco, how cute.
We had some special visitors! Megan, Sam, and their two kiddos came all the way from Tennessee just to see us! Just kidding, they were really coming to visit my mom and we were a quick stop for them on the way. But really they did have an insane day of traveling to get to us! We were so glad they did make it though! Ashlyn was SO excited to have Grace come to stay with us. It was really cute to see them play together, and fun to have some time to chat with Sam and Megan! And of course Elan and Paisley were charming babies the whole time as well.
This is my favorite! ha haha! The babies' faces! Love it.
Silly faces at Chick Fil A. Hmm, it seems like several of my pictures in this post have been at various visits to Chick fil a. I may have a problem .....
Elan started doing this little scowl when he thinks he needs something and doesn't get it right away. I think I know who he learned it from.
It is so FUNNY! He does it all the time. Then it's back to that killer smile.
heart eyes!!
