Ashlyn had swimming lessons for 2 weeks in July. It was her first time. I had pretty much zero expectations, besides hoping she'd at least cooperate with her teacher and not be a stinker in class. I was SUPER pleasantly surprised. She started off a little timid, but she really did well throughout the 2 weeks. By the end her teacher had gotten her to jump in off the side, and "disappear" putting her whole head in the water. Not to say she was super comfortable with doing those things, but she did them! (they had a great system of bribing using Starbursts, which I was totally on board with!) Her teacher was my long-time hairstylist (and friend) Natalie Marti, who has been doing Starfish Swim School in her mom's pool for like 15 years. She was the BEST teacher, super patient and also very thorough. Ashlyn absolutely loved her.
Another fun thing about swim lessons was that My good friend Lindy's little boy Miles was in Ashlyn's class! So Lindy and I got to sit and chat during lessons each day, and Ashlyn and Miles also enjoyed hanging out together in the pool. They both did really good!
