Ashlyn is 5 months old now! (well, she was on July 17th.... )
She continues to be a super chipper little baby. She has big smiles for everyone and is a pretty good sport doing pretty much anything. Good thing, because man it seems like ever since she's joined our family we have been on the go way more than ever before. She has been to Utah 3 times, Idaho Falls 3 times, Albion, Little Redfish Lake, and had lots and lots of company staying with us over the past few months. Luckily Ashlyn seems to be pretty much ok to sleep whenever, wherever (for the most part), and doesn't ever let traveling get her grouchy! I'm hoping this sticks around!
-Bath time.... now that she has some toys to play with she would stay in there and splash around all day if I let her!
-Nap time: seriously a fabulous sleeper!
-Standing up!
-Grabbing things and sticking them right in her mouth!
-Walking around. This mainly seems to be appealing during church, she would much rather walk around the halls than sit in any meetings.
-Her feet! Loves these things and is constantly holding onto them and/or eating them!
-Lucy! Anytime Lucy comes near, Ashlyn is fascinated and tries to grab her. As soon as she does Lucy wises up and gets the heck out of there!
Some dislikes:
-Being hungry! Man that girl can, out of nowhere, scream bloody murder right up until the second the bottle pops into her mouth. Ask anyone who has sat in sacrament meeting with us.
-Shoes. Whenever I put them on her (which has become pretty much reserved for church), it is her never-ending project to kick them off as quickly as possible.
-Sitting in her Bumbo. I was pretty bummed about this one. She will arch right out if the tray isn't attached.
-Tummy time when she's waited too long to roll over. It's like she's too tired to do it so she just lays there and yells.
I left her alone for 2 seconds... didn't happen again! I can't believe how big she is getting, and I continue to be thankful every day for the joy she has brought to our family. I think with adoption it's sometimes easier to see that Heavenly Father sends certain spirits to us for good reason--I'm sure I hardly know any of the reasoning behing Ashlyn getting sent to us but I'm so thankful she was. We love you, babykins!

Tonya, I always love your posts - they make me smile and I love hearing about your life. As I read this post it brought back memories of when Wendi was a baby and how much I loved being a mother (and still do)! The feelings of love cannot be explained, there just aren't words - and the feelings just expand and increase every time another child joins your family. Motherhood is truly a heavenly calling, filled with so much joy!
