Happy Heart Day

Collin and I aren't the extreme cliche types to do some big fancy whatever on V-Day, but we do like a good excuse to do nice things for each other and spend some extra time together! Saturday happened to be a non-high school-tournament day for Collin and I judged at a piano event all day, so later that night we decided to go out for Valentine's Day early since we knew Monday would be a bad idea. We went to Red Lobster! I love that place. It was perfect timing right when their crowds were winding down, so we had a great, great time together there. Delicious food and a relaxing evening! We then went home and watched Toy Story 3! :) For actual heart day we had a classy dinner! See heart pizza below! Holy cow, did you know Papa Murphy's is PACKED on V-day?! I didn't until I stepped foot in there to behold the longest line ever. Luckily I had called in my order so it was fast, but jeeze! I didn't know the heart pizza thing was so popular! Maybe more so since it was a Monday night and not as many people were planning to go out?
Anyway, I didn't get done teaching until 8:40 Monday so we had our little dinner afterwards. It was fun!
Note the awesome mismatched plates and napkins... I have tons of packages of these that I bought on sale at JoAnn's some year, so I figured we might as well use them! I wasn't going for fancy, obviously!

Our one Valentine's tradition (I don't even remember how we started this) is that we make cards for each other. This is more enjoyable for me than Collin, obviously! And the reasons for that are two: one, because I like making cards and two, because I get to see whatever hilarious thing Colllin has crafted by hand. Although this year he made his on the computer which I considered cheating. But anyway, he left me some Ben & Jerry's (yeah just what I need right now) with my card in the freezer.... and I left him a Gatorade and some Lindor truffles (which were gone before I even got done teaching...hmm....) with his card. Fun!

Here's our "Valentine's Day picture".... I love you honey!

We just started the whole card making tradition this year!!!!SO FUN! I really wasn't expecting much...until I walk into the kitchen and Brady is setting up my cricket! It was hillarious watching him try and figure that thing out. He said he actually had fun making it so we decided to make it a tradition every year!

Very Fun! I love your haircut by the way, SOOO CUTE!!(as always) We started the heart pizza tradition 3ish years ago after a few years of going to restaurants and having the longest waits ever! After 3 years of experience we have realized that if you go to Papa Murphy's after the lunch hour and before 4 their is only a small line, after that you are doomed to a long line :)!!
