Snowboarding

We went snowboarding! As you may know, I have only been one other time in my life--last winter. That first time, Collin strapped me into the board and took me up the lift before I had even figured out how to stand up on the board! Needless to say, getting off the lift was a major disaster, and I cried at the top because I was so mad that Collin took me up there without even teaching me anything on a smaller hill first! (And now for your viewing pleasure. . . a trip down the mountain with Tonya and Collin! This is pretty boring but the first part (me falling over and over) is a little funnny. And then I almost get run-over at the end, so you can see how I risked my life for this. Keep in mind, I did improve as the night went on. . . and this was pretty early! Just ignore how I flail my arms the whole way down the mountain.)

Anyways, so he finally convinced me to go again (that first time DID end up being somewhat fun, by the way. Just not at first.).Here is what I looked like when we got to Bogus:

Here is what Collin looked like:

Well, it ended up being really fun. Collin made sure to let me practice a couple times on the bunny hill, which was nice of him. ;) And then we did the big one--I was SO scared of getting off the lift, but I did awesome! Not to brag, but I didn't fall once getting off the lift all night! (that is a major accomplishment for me!) We had so much fun. It wasn't crowded at all, and now that it's daylight savings there was light for like 3 hours even though it was night skiing. It was great. Collin was so patient and was trying to teach me to carve but it was hard. I did do a ton better than last time though, so I was really excited about that. I was tired by like 9:00 so Collin went off and did his thing for about an hour, which was fine with me. I wanted to get some footage of him but it was dark so it didn't work.

The moral of the story is . . . I was so un-excited to go, but I'm glad we did because it was a ton of fun. Thanks for talking me into it, Collin! :)

That was hilarious! That was cute when you kept falling over in the beginning, you crack me up, but I've gotta say I think you seriously kicked some butt! You did awesome, way to be brave. That would scare me to death. And that is why I have NEVER been snowboarding. :) I'm too much of a wimp!

Congratulations Ton! Looks like fun! Hopefully someday Chris and I will be able to come with you and Collin (but first I will have to catch up with your mad skills).
