The Last Days

This post is out of order but oh well.

This is a wrap up of our last couple of weeks in Boise. After our awesome, awesome Europe trip, things were crazy. Getting the house rented, finding a place to live, packing, saying goodbye to the only place we've both lived pretty much our entire adult lives, etc. etc. was a whirlwind that also seemed to stand still at times. Since neither Collin or I were working all summer before the move, we had kind of a lot of time on our hands! It was nice because packing wasn't super rushed. But it was hard because although we didn't want to leave, it seemed like time was moving so slowly towards moving day, we were just starting to feel ready to get it over with. I was definitely ready to be done packing, and feeling homeless those last couple of weeks! We tried to make the most of each day we had to do some of our favorite things and spend as much time with friends as we could. We really did a lot of stuff! And anyways, here's the recap.

Family trip to the zoo--we have had a family pass for the last 2 years. We love it every time we go. We rode on the boat for the first time and got to see the newest monkeys. It was fun.
Here is Ashlyn enjoying the fruits of a successful day of potty-training--swimming in the pool, blowing bubbles, and eating a popsicle. Man, the life.

After Ashlyn's hair-fixing time was over, she got a turn to work on me.
I made this style up myself. I pictured it looking a LOT cooler for how much work it was!

Ivy Wild with our buddies. What a great day and a great memory of our last week there.

I sold our old vacuum (the parents donated their old one which was a huge upgrade from this one) in 20 minutes on a facebook page.

Also sold the ripped-up ottoman in about 30 minutes. Thank you, facebook!

 Jamba, Jamba, Jamba.

We had a fun playdate with friends at Settler's park. Ugh it makes me so sad seeing these pictures! I miss everyone!

Seriously, these two. SOO adorable.

I roped my friends into going out for pedicures one afternoon. It was the best. This was like 2 days before we left.

She's figured out how to photobomb....

A rare moment where I caught a decent picture of her! I wish I had more to document her constant adorable-ness. She blows me away with her beauty every day!

Heavy-duty hairdo to last through the move!

And this picture is to document a couple of things--one, for those friends who say they don't believe me when I say I cried like every day from June 22-the day we moved--here you go. BOTH Collin and I bawled our eyes out as we pulled away from church and the whole drive home on our last Sunday. Even like 30 minutes later I still looked like this! Anyway, this is also documenting that I got my Young Women's medallion! (again) Just in time, my last Sunday. I really loved re-doing personal progress.
Another time I had a good bawl-fest, Collin's last day at Centennial. Oh MAN! This place is as much a part of our family as our dog. For real. The hours spent, even just for me, have so much significance in my memories and our family memories. Even now 2 months later I feel sentimental about it. Good grief. Anyway, Ashlyn and I went to help Collin load up the last of his stuff on his final day. It was weird and a little exciting but mostly sad for me. I don't even know why! I seriously lost it when the AD and Secretary hugged us to say goodbye.

The wrestling room

One of Collin's labors of love--the wall of champions

His classroom--bare and empty and ready for someone new.

Trophies in the wrestling room

The final task-deleting his hard drive. (random note, I love how Ashlyn is posing in this! And also, where did she learn that??)

This is kind of random but fitting. This was taken while we were in Europe and Ashlyn was in the care of the amazing Chandra. These 4 littles are all within 6 months of each other's ages and their moms have been some of my dearest friends for the past several years. I'm sure we will have many reunions in the future, but I'm glad they had one this summer!
