Pre-Christmas Sunday

Pre-Christmas weekend is always so busy! Usually we are traveling, but this year we were here until after church. We were not super-thrilled to have to stay and miss some time with family, but it's a long story on why we did stay--because of my calling. It could be worse.

I put together our ward's Christmas program this year since I am the ward choir director. It is not something I would like to do again--too much pressure! I feel like everyone comes to church expecting something super amazing so I was really freaking out about it. But it turned out ok and I know that some of the things I was inspired to include were just what some people needed. And I definitely felt the Spirit during the whole thing (including BAWLING my eyes out during the final number RIGHT as I had to turn around to lead the congregation for the finale number! so embarrassing.)

Ashlyn had a beautiful Christmas hairstyle (Daddy was left in charge of the pictures so they're not super detailed! :)

Our 2 girls in their Christmas outfits:  ( I even made bows to match the dress--go mom!)

Sunday was a huge blur. We were trying to leave right after church so the entire day before I spent packing, cleaning, and cooking to get all ready.

I was at church at 8:30 that morning because we had our last choir practice from 9:00-10:00 and then had breakfast which I brought afterwards. Of course there were last minute rehearsals and our ward has a tradition of an orchestra that I play in that does the prelude every Sunday leading up to Christmas, so the morning was stacked. I was sad I wasn't home to get Ash all ready for church in her pretty outfit but Collin does a great job being "Mr. Mom" when it comes to that stuff (....if I give him VERY specific instructions! :) )

Church was busy but like I said, the program went great. I got a lot of compliments so I take that as a good thing! Lucky for us we have a lot of super talented musicians in our ward so that helped make everything so wonderful!

After church of course it just started snowing. boo. I was racing so quick to try to get everything ready to go and I was super grumpy that there were no good pics of Ash in her dress or us as a family... I know, typical First World Problem! This was our best attempt at a family picture:
 Oh well.

A couple more shots of Ashlyn, she was seriously so cute but it is SO ridiculous trying to get a decent picture of her, especially when she's all riled-up from being at church for 3 hours!

We headed out about 90 minutes after church got out--not as soon as I would have hoped! And it took us a good 7 hours (usually 5) to get down to Collin's mom's house. But we made it in one piece that is what matters, right! More Christmas coming soon!
