Family Pictures

In case you were wondering how our family pictures turned out  . . .

I had been sort of thinking about getting pictures done since I knew we would be needing some for our adoption profile . . . and then all of a sudden things came together and I had about 48 hours to get everything ready for them! I really like how our photographer did things, although we just did a mini-session so we didn't have hours to be patient about getting a certain little miss to smile.

Everyone who knows Ashlyn knows she is like, the smiliest, happy little girl! Super social and chipper, pretty much all the time! So why in the heck, do we not have a single picture where all 3 of us are smiling?? huh!?!??! I'll tell you why. The minute we got to the picture location she became totally fascinated with the rocks in the parking lot. Meaning, the second we would pick her up or try to move her away from them she would throw a giant fit, crying so hard she had tears streaming down her face and everything! But it's not like we wanted to take pictures in the parking lot. So, she was not in a good mood. I guess I can count my blessings that at least she's not crying. But seriously! I guess I should have explained to Ashlyn that the point of these pictures is to try to convince someone that being our child is a GOOD thing! She didn't do a very convincing job in these!

Good thing she's so dang cute. And I would recommend the photographer we used to anyone. She did a great job, and seriously followed Ashlyn around for half an hour trying to get a smiel at the camera. She just wouldn't budge. Oh well. A friend of ours is in the process of doing some photoshopping magic to get a decent profile pic put together, so there is hope yet! :)
