McCall

I am seriously breaking some sort of record getting this post up so fast!

We went up to McCall for a quick trip this weekend. It was our first "family trip!" (you know what I mean, somewhere that we weren't staying with family!)

It went so well. It was really, really fun to go just the 3 of us (sadly Lucy had to stay behind at the kennel) on a trip where we really had nothing but fun things to do. We got there around 3:00 and had to wait a little while to check in to our hotel so we headed down to the lakefront! We hadn't been to McCall in probably 5 years, and they have seriously updated the lakefront area since we were last there! It is so much nicer and tourist-friendly than I remember! (Then again, we were there in September last time so that is probably part of why it didn't feel so touristy anyway) It was super hot so I wasn't too sad that we didn't stick around long that day. Plus all Ashlyn wanted to do was play in these rocks she found near a recycling bin!

We were so lucky that Collin's mom let us use her account for a WorldMark condo! It was so nice! We had originally been hoping she could come up with us but it didn't work out....so we had the whole place to ourselves! Way bigger than we needed, but it was great to have space for Ashlyn to run around! Collin and Ashlyn hit up the pool right after we got there, I didn't swim because I knew I wouldn't have time to get all ready for the wedding in time so I just took pictures!
The whole {real} reason we were there was for a wedding! Kirk Smith, one of Collin's wrestlers, finally got hitched sweet Jill, who he's been dating for the past 7 years! Kirk's parents were somewhat instrumental in Collin getting matched up with his job at Centennial and Collin coached Kirk to 2 state championships. Kirk now coaches with Collin at Centennial. So it was fun to see one of his wrestlers get married! The wedding was at the Bear Creek Lodge in McCall and it was a really pretty area. We only stuck around for dinner then took off before the wild partying {ha!} started but we had a good time!

Ok, again with the pictures out of order. I swear I have cussed  at blogger more than ever lately. Oh well. So here is some shots of our big condo, so fun. We really wished we could have stayed longer. No pictures of Collin and my room, oh well.

After the wedding we headed back and put Ashlyn right to bed.... we are such lame-o's these days, we were thinking it was so late and it was only 8:30! So we got a complimentary movie rental with our stay and we watched Man on a Ledge and ate almost an entire medium-size bag of m&ms between us! Gross I know. But it was fun!

The next day we slept in {as late as Little Miss Sunshine would allow....which was almost 9:00 luckily} and took our time hanging out in the morning. Ashlyn really liked hanging out on the little deck we had, and waving and talking to the neighbors when they were out on their decks. I ended up watching Nights in Rodanthe while I was getting ready.....Should not have done that! I forgot how freaking sad that movie is! I was bawling at the end, which was right when we were leaving! I am such a dork.

So, after we checked out we went back into the little downtown area and just walked around checking everything out. It was already getting pretty hot so we only did that for about an hour. We got some DELICIOUS gelato cones and headed out. We stopped in Cascade to scout out some possible camping coming up in a few weeks..... so more fun things to come! Loved it!
