Well now that it's over a month after our anniversary, I am finally getting around to posting about it! It actually fell on Saturday this year, so that was fun. Collin's mom came up from Utah to visit for the weekend, and she was nice enough to watch Ashlyn for us while we went out for the night!
If I haven't explained this to you before. . . we decided back after our 1st anniversary to do a letter of the alphabet as the "theme" for what we do to celebrate each year...which is really fun. (not our original idea, I wish I could take credit.) Anyway, this year was the letter
F! Which proved to be way more fun and easier to think of things than E!!
We started out with
Fondue at the Melting Pot, which I have always wanted to go there!

They had a little anniversary card waiting for us and everything! I loved the atmosphere, we had a great private booth and a great server too. We were right next to a corner, and if you have been there you know all the servers walking around have to say "corner" right when they go around a corner to avoid any collisions, because it is in an old historic downtown building with lots of tight winding hallways. So we got to hear "corner" like 500 times which was funny. It was really fun to do the fondue thing. I don't think I've had fondue since we used to have it for FHE treats when I was growing up!

It was a 4-course meal! whew! I thought I would be so stuffed by the end but it was actually the perfect amount. My favorite by far was dessert! I would go there just for the beyond-divine dessert again any time! I also really like appetizers which was some delicious cheesy spinach-artichoke fondue. My least fave was the main course, I guess I am just not a huge fan of meat boiled in oil?? It wasn't bad, just not to die for like the others! And besides that it all takes a while which was fun and we got a chance to talk lots which doesn't happen as much as it used to these days!

We walked around downtown for a while, which was
Fun and something we don't do as much these days! Then we headed to our hotel--the
Fairfield Inn! Nothing fancy but hey it was pretty cheap and goes with the theme, right! And just having a night with guaranteed no sleep interruptions and not having to get up early if the baby decided to was totally worth it! Although..... of course I couldn't sleep past 7:30! wha?!?! I was so mad. Collin couldn't either. I sweat that
always happens to me when I actually do have the chance to sleep in, it's like I'm so excited to sleep in that it turns out I
can't! boo. But oh well. We ended up watching Mega-Mind and some episodes of SVU, and having breakfast in bed so it was still a relaxing morning!

After that we headed downtown to the
Farmer's Market! It was a beautiful day to shop there. We never buy any of the stuff but we like the
free samples! The one thing I have recently started buying at the market is this delicious Mint Limeade. So yummy! It's a huge ripoff at like $4 a cup, but I think it's so good! Plus the booth is right in front of Anthropologie so it's also an excuse to stop in there for a few minutes!
Well after all that fun we stopped twice more to run some errands (I know, so romantic. Welcome to the real world, peeps) and then got home about 2:00. I then left to go watch Andrea run at a x-country meet out in Eagle, and then that night we went out to eat with Darlyne (Collin's mom). Fun weekend! Did I get any pictures of Darlyne with Ashlyn? Of course not. What a great mom I am. Oh well. For the record, Darlyne hates being in pictures anyway, so I don't know how fruitless of an effort it would have been....if I had remembered. In general the camera has not been coming out much lately! oh well. Anyway, we had a great anniversary and it was fun to get a chance "away" to just be with each other. I am so lucky to have the best husband I could ever hope for. Collin really is way out of my league, I scored big time! Love him!!
