Yes, it is time again for a big long post about our visit to Idaho Falls for the 4th of July. We also had a family reunion right after this year, so it was a long trip! Well it mostly just seemed long because Ashlyn did NOT sleep well at night, any night. But luckily having fun with family makes up for lack of sleep, for the most part!
Well we started out the 4th with our tradition of all gathering to watch the podunk parade... although I did think it was a teensy bit better than last year's.
Bad shot, but Jodee was on the Girls Fed float! She's FAMOUS! ha ha hah aha

Ashlyn spent most of the parade on someone or another's lap..... it was right during naptime so I was thinking she would be really grouchy, but she was pretty interested in watching all the commotion! She totally zonked out the minute we left the parade though.
First fourth! yay!
Someone there had the cutest little dog that looked just like Lucy! It made me miss our little doggie and again I will be working on convincing my parents to revoke their evil plan to never ever let any dogs come visit them. boo.
After naps (attempted, with the non-sleeping baby), we headed to Grandma's for the BBQ and fireworks!

wow. No not Paris.... just my cuz Lora.
I know. Encouraging, right? There were 2 dogs at the parade, and 1 at the BBQ! Lucy may be coming next year!
First fourth as a family! yahoo!
So now onto the Reunion: It was at this place in Albion, I don't want to bother explaining if you haven't been there. But it is a very nice place, like a mix between a bed and breakfast and giant hotel, which now that I have a kid it was soooo nice to have our own quiet room to put her down for naps and bed in.
The special musical number participants and Grandma after her fireside.... We love Grandma! She is pretty special.

Seriously the best thing about that place were these super dorky little bikes that everyone was riding around. I wish I had a picture but pretty much the funniest moment of my life was seeing my dad go zooming by on one of these things chasing a flock of peacocks. Yes, that entire sentence was true.
Needless to say, Ash got plenty of attention. She was sad when we got home: "What, I'm not getting held every single second of the day??"

Minute to win it! boo ya! No I did not win
