Pumpkins!

We decided we're going to have a tradition of getting our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch each year. We just know our kids are going to love the fun experience. Or else they will always remember the "one year mom and dad tried to take us to the pumpkin patch but it was so much work we never went back." We had a funny adventure this year. We just waltzed right into the field (we only had an hour until it closed), thinking we knew just where to go, because it was where we had found big ones last year. Well half an hour later all we had found after tripping millions of times and picking off hundreds of stickers were little baby pumpkins! I loved it because of course I think they are so cute. But Collin was in it for a BIG pumpkin!
"What are all these stupid little pumpkins??"
"Awww! look at this one!" I loved them and drove Collin crazy by picking a new one like every 5 feet because it was even cuter than the last.
What the . . . ??? Don't they grow big pumpkins anymore?
My reply to this was "maybe they had such a late start growing them in the spring that none of them got big" !! We really thought we were so smart.

As you can see we had happy ending and did end up finding the regular size pumpkins. It was a hilarious fun adventure bushwhacking through that giant field and I'm glad we did . . .
BUT get this--once we were actually buying our pumpkins we saw that there was a MAP of the entire place! Telling you exactly where each size is. Boy did we feel stupid. Of course the section we had waltzed right into was the huge field of minis. If we had known we could have gone straight to the big ones! We got a good laugh out of that though, and know we know that golden wisdom that we will surely use next year! :)

Lol! The last time we went to the pumpkin patch I was a few months pregnant with Graden. We went on the hay ride and I did not think anything of it. The next day I could not move and I had pinched a nerve in my lower back. Uggghhh! Stupid pumpkin traditions!
