I have never been back to an Emotion Bowl since my senior year, which was fall of 2001! If you're not from Eastern Idaho I'm not surprised if you know what the E.B. is anyways . . . but then again once I moved away I realized there are people out there who don't know about it! :) It's only the biggest game of the year--between IF and Skyline. The tradition goes back to who knows when, probably when my dad went there! Being in the family I'm in, we were born and bred TIGERS, and the rivalry between the schools has always been a big deal. Not to mention as I was growing up there were fun things like football players getting sabatoged with laxative milkshakes, spray-painted mice set free in the halls, painted parking lots, dead cats hanging from marquees, and other fun things. (I had no role in those!) SO I've always wanted to take Collin to show him just how true it is that it seems that the whole town comes down and is DIE HARD for which team they're rooting for, but he had obligations here so I made the trip (not solely for the purpose of football, mind you) solo.
It was really fun to go back to a football game--and it was the first time I've ever say in the parent section! It brought back tons of fun memories of going to so many games all through high school. Ravsten Stadium looked exactly the same--run down and old! :) And that's why I love it!
Nice shot of IF's end zone . . . of course I didn't waste my film on Skyline's!
There are 2 kinds of people in the world . . . those who go to IF and those who wish they did!
BTW . . . IF won! It was actually a really exciting game. About 2 minutes into the first quarter I realized why I haven't made it a priority to come back to a game--I am not a fan of watching football! too boring! But this was a reasonably exciting game, even for me! It was really close and tied a lot of the game but IF pulled out in the end--and of course it was fun to see all the students rush the field and spray paint the *ALREADY ORANGE* goal posts!
Andrea was a good sport and only complained about being cold in the last half ! ;)
On to other fabulous things I did on my trip home . . .
spent like 3 hours at Jodee's swim meet--Alex, Tara, Andrea and I happened to make a Wendy's run right at the time of one of the races, (there were only 4) out of those 3 hours.
. . . Went to HSM 3 with my sisters . . . and my eyes got sore from rolling so often. I also swallowed lots of snot choking back laughter at times it wouldn't be approriate to the rest of the 12-year old audience. But hey all my STUDENTS think I'm COOL b/c I've seen it!
