Aw man! Four months already! This little love muffin has our whole hearts, that's for sure.
She's tickling, not choking..... I checked.
Bath time... he knows when it's coming now. As soon as I lay him down on the bath mat he starts kicking and squealing. He LOVES every minute of it. What a 180 from 3 months ago!!
Doing serious faces.
I like how he's so amused with Lucy in this one. He has kind of just started noticing Lucy the past few weeks. He is even starting to grab her fur when he's close enough. Good thing she is like, "oh, another kid to torture me? Oh ok. Whatever."
Melts my heart!!
We had a fun little trip to Dierkes Lake (or as we call it, The Beach) and Elan was happy as a clam hanging out all afternoon. When we go do fun things he usually won't sleep very much. Like he doesn't want to miss out.
I need to post more of our family pictures....they turned out so good! This is my favorite. These two burst my heart!
We have been making some trips to the swimming pool, and he is cool to sit and chill in his carseat, or with me in the shade. Such an easygoing guy!
Every week or so we try the Bumbo to see if he likes it yet.... and every week he sit for a few seconds and then starts to cry. Today he lasted like 2 minutes, sitting like this. He was trying to sit in it like a recliner sort of? It was funny. Anyway, we'll see if he ever likes it. I hope so, it is a great little baby seat for Mom!
Mom and Elan selfie! I really just can't get enough of holding him. Why do so many things require 2 hands??
Oh that smile.
4 Month Stats:
16.15 lbs (95% with preemie adjustment)
26" (95% with preemie adjustment)
He is BIG! Already wearing size 6-9 month clothes!
At 4 Months Elan Likes....
* Bath time!
* Smiling and LAUGHING at anyone, anything.
*Being ticked--ticklish on his collar bone, feet, and sides
* Being naked / getting diaper changed (he's all laughs and coos when the clothes are off!)
* Snuggling
*Being swaddled to sleep--although he has to have one arm (always the left arm) out to rub the blanket against his face as he goes to sleep.
*Ashlyn--absolutely adores her and smiles and laughs just watching her.
* Swatting/grabbing at things. He's getting pretty good at snagging my hair, dang it. He loves his little activity gym thing I lay him on while I'm in the kitchen and is getting the hang of reaching the little things dangling in it.
* Being outside! He is a happy camper out there, and we've been spending a lot of time out there!
* Having some time to himself to lay and play! Sometimes if I'm holding him and he fusses, all he needs is to be laid down and he is totally cool.
* Watching his mobile. Almost as exciting as bath time!
* Walks/runs in the jogger and riding around in the Snugli and Solly Wrap
*Story time at bed time--he sits there with a grin on his face as I read to him!
He Doesn't Like ......
*Sitting in his carseat in the car...unless the car is moving at a pretty high speed! Doesn't like getting strapped into it or remaining strapped in it either.
*Tummy Time (Doctor was a little worried with his lack of being able to hold his head up on his tummy at his 4 mo. appointment....but I'm sure he'll get the hang of it.)
He is such a great kid. Collin said a while ago that when Ashlyn was born, it was like a big ray of sunshine had come and she brought so much excitement and joy to our family. When Elan was born, he has brought a sense of calm and has truly been just what we've needed in the heart-wrenching times we've had recently. He is such a blessing, and already seeing his little personality coming out is so wonderful. I am still in awe every day that he made his way to our family, how he did and when he did was none other than God's work, that is for sure. We love our little Elan boy.
