Another Wrestling Season Done and Done

Collin's 9th wrestling season just ended. NINTH! Pretty crazy. I mean on one hand it feels like we've been married 20 years and this is just how things go....and on the other I can still remember like yesterday the FIRST wrestling season which was also our first year of marriage. Oh the ups and downs we've had already!  Ha ha.

Anyway, Collin's team did outstanding. Like, the most outstanding an Idaho team has ever done. Pretty awesome. I already posted most of these pics on my other social media outlets so sorry if you've already seen them! It was fun to see pretty much the best possible fruits come from all the coaches' & team's efforts!
Won District III Championships for 5th consecutive year. Collin was named District Coach of the Year for the second time (first was in 2007).  Team points scored: 531.5 Total district placers: 28 (that's how many qualified for state). Wow!
Collin was named State Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.... he also was awarded this honor last year and also in 2007. (I cried halfway out to Nampa because I was SO mad I missed him getting awarded this....thanks to a certain 3 year old choosing a good time to be onry and throw lots of fits.... but it's ok I was doing my important job, right?)

Team huddle after receiving their 2nd straight State 5A title

A special helper insisted on carrying the coach of the year plaque all the way from our seats in the Idaho Center to the car.. it was almost as big as her! With her little backpack she looked so dang cute walking along like a big kid.

5A State Champions.... for the second year in a row. Team points scored: 320.5. Previous record (which they set last year) was 318.5. They had a school record number of guys in finals (1st place) matches: 8, and 6 won 1st. Total team placers were 14. Wow!!

Nana came up to visit for the weekend..... she still loves watching wrestling and has come to watch Collin and his team at state every year! (except the one Ashlyn was born....which was right after Papa had his stroke). It was fun to have her there and I know Collin loved the support as well!
