Thanksgiving

We had a fun Thanksgiving! Collin worked hard running lots of wrestling practices Mon-Wed that week and then we took off Wednesday right after practice for Idaho Falls. Tara and Paul came to my parent's house too, and of course Alex and Andrea (can I just call you guys the "little kids" now?) were there too. We missed sweet Jodee who's now on her mission in Texas.

We had a lot of fun playing games together, eating together, and we went to Catching Fire, which I knew I would and DID love! Mom and I went Black Friday shopping and I got almost all of my gifts, like usual.

We all did the "Run to Feed the Hungry" Turkey Trot that has gotten going in IF over the last few years. We did it a couple of years ago and had fun. This year..... not as much. It was still great to have something to train for and to get a lot of exercise before stuffing ourselves, but the race was sooo unorganized. The separate courses for 1 mile, 5K, and 10K were not even marked, and lots of people got lost! My dad and Tara, who were walking with Ashlyn, gave up when they didn't know where to go and just went back and sat in the car! ha ha! I thought that was hilarious. Collin got lost too--doing the 10K--and made a little detour through this townhouse community or something. Crazy! Plus they started over 20 minutes late. That is not ok with me, people! If you say the start time is 9:00 it better start at 9:00! Especially when it's 14 degrees out!! But it was a good experience for me personally anyway.... the 5K course was actually 3.5 miles and my only goal was to run the whole way, which I did! So I felt good. Plus I ran into one of my favorite piano families there, how fun to get to see my student at the race! :)

I hardly have any pictures from that weekend, we were too busy partying I guess! Collin was nice and let us stay until Saturday morning. (that is missing TWO practices, people! Big sacrifice!) It was a lot of fun!

Turkey Trot....... waiting, waiting, waiting! (note Dad's AWESOME pink blanket he's sporting!)

Ashlyn loves Alex..... join the club Ashlyn. I thought this was a great picture, him passing on his rubix cube knowlege to the next generation!
And this was probably the funniest moment of the week. Collin went in to check on Ashlyn before we went to bed and found this! She was in a crib.... but somehow got the giant barn in there, and I guess thought it made a good blanket. Silly girl. Gave us and my parents a super good laugh.
