I had my every-other-year check in with my GI this week, and even though I knew I would beforehand, sure enough, I left with tears in my eyes due to the gratitude I feel for how healthy I have been! 10 years ago I spent many days and even weeks in the hospital due to ulcerative colitis, and trips to the GI were never fun because it meant I was getting sicker and they had to try to decide what to do. I can't remember all the details of all that transpired leading to me having major surgery to have my colon removed at the age of 16, but whatever it was, Heavenly Father was definitely looking out for me! I have met so many people through Take Steps, Education Conferences, and especially the Support Group I run, that have had the surgery I have, but have been dealing with problems with it ever since. I have to stop and think WOW! I've never had any problems. Okay, not entirely true, but when I look at what I do day-to-day, I really don't deal with any problems. It's a huge miracle, in my opinion. I know everything happens for a reason and I'm glad I've had this reminder that Heavenly Father must have more in store for me to do, giving me such great health. I better take advantage of it! I really do try to, and that is part of why I have been so involved with CCFA the past 6 years or so, but still! I am thankful, thankful, thankful that I have been blessed to lead a "normal" life even with the insanely complicated medical history I have!Friday

Me too! It was always so scary when you were in the hospital for me. And I think during those years was when you and I really became the close friends we are today! Love you sis!
