So, the painting turned out to be a very very bad experience. See my hands? Yea, that is like after washing them for like half an hour. I won't point fingers but someone went to get paint for me and apparently he didn't even check to see if it was oil or water-based . . . which wasn't a problem until I came inside after painting and asked Collin "how do I clean the brush?" And he said "just run it under water and get the paint out with your fingers."
So I went into the bathroom . . . and after a few seconds of doing those exact directions my hands were coated in thick black paint and there was nothing but little specs of paint in the sink and the paintbrush was still coated. " . . . um, Collin, can you come in here?" (he was watching a football game so of course he didn't want to) "what's wrong? Just rinse it out under the water!" (he said, annoyed.) To make a long story short, he finally came in and realized OH it's oil-based. So me, with the greasy black paint hands, staring at the greasy-black coated bathroom sink, had a few choice words with my husband and sent him right off to get some paint thinner.
So I sat around for about half an hour with greasy black paint hands. I mean, what do you do in that situation? I couldn't do any of what I had planned to do next: fold laundry, organize food storage, or practice. so I did what any fuming wife would do--I sat down in front of the football game and finished off his chips and salsa. SO THERE! :)
Collin was very nice through the whole thing--he knows I do not deal well with "surprises" like this. I still need to get better at being patient, but I was laughing when he got home (especially about the chips and salsa) so it was alright. And yes the paint did come off my hands and the sink, thank goodness. And just so you know, oil based paint makes your hands really greasy and doesn't wash off. Ever.
By the way. . . we had a fun night too--at Bar Gernika with Cam & Chaly and watching some Friends.
